Minister Theresa L. Holbrook
Children's Ministry
Theresa leads our Children’s Ministry, which focuses on the spiritual needs of children from Pre-K (4 years old) to 6th grade. We provide a safe and loving environment for your children to be nurtured and taught creative, Holy Spirit-inspired, age appropriate lessons.
We will teach your children that God uniquely made them, unconditionally loves them, and wants to have a relationship with them forever. We desire to see your children grow up making wise choices, building strong relationships, and developing their faith.
Our team of committed volunteers eagerly await the opportunity to partner with you on your child’s spiritual journey.
Michael Levi Borkman
Sunday School Superintendent
Michael Levi Borkman originally from Chatta, TN. He has been living and working in Hayesville, NC since 2014 as a Business Consultant, Executive Coach adviser and mentor. He does Strategic Consulting, including business plans & sales strategy development. He is also the producer and host of the Extreme Carolina radio/ podcast show. Michael also serves on two nonprofits boards.
He is married to Susan Joy Borkman and has 3 daughters, 2 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He loves to read, is a novice gardener, and enjoys playing chess.
Michael and Susan have helped start and participate in small study groups. They encourage each man to have a healthy relationship with God.
Minister Donald Carter
Community Outreach
Minister Donald Carter was born in Asheville, NC and moved to Murphy, NC at the age of 4 when he was adopted by Will and Pauline Carter. Minister Carter graduated from Murphy High School in 1981. After high school he was employed at Levi's for 7 years. He has 1 daughter Leshea Carter with Lisa Carter.
Minister Carter heads our Community Outreach initiative which includes ministering at the Hayesville House three times a month as well as being the lead teacher for our Adult Sunday School Class.
